NHS Pricing

The NHS charges for treatment are currently set within three fixed price bands: Band 1, Band 2 and Band 3. The charges incurred, and the treatment available, within each band are shown below to help you make sense of your NHS charges.

BAND 1: This covers simple dental procedures such as examinations and X-rays and the charge for treatment within this band is £25.80

BAND 2: This covers more complex treatment such as fillings, extractions and root canal treatment. The charge for treatment within this band is £70.70

BAND 3: This covers the most complex treatments such as crowns, bridges, dentures etc. The cost for treatments within this band is set at £306.80

The prices shown above are not set by the Practice, but are charges set under national criteria and, as such, may be subject to change at little or no notice.

The main difference between NHS and private dentistry is that you can’t receive cosmetic treatment on the NHS, the focus is purely clinical. This means that the NHS provides any treatment you need to keep your mouth, teeth and gums healthy and free of pain in the most cost-effective way possible.
